The ACL injuries course is taught by Meryl Wheeler: MEd, BKin., CAT(Ret.), NPE. An Athletic Therapist and Non-Physician Expert (NPE) in Acute Knee Injuries. She is also the coordinator of the Speciality Clinics at the University of Calgary Sport Medicine Centre. I have known Meryl for several years and worked closely with her in caring for many knee injured patients.  I know her to have excellent physical examination skills with acute knee injuries and is adept at management of this injury.  I have also seen her train colleagues to be effective co-workers.  As such, I trust not only her knowledge and expertise with the acutely injured knee, but also her ability to teach and mentor other therapists in their pursuit of advanced clinical skills.

What Therapists Are Saying

Great course, immediate application to clinical practice

Thank you for creating this concise and comprehensive ACL course! A good reminder of the key points in the history and physical exam to focus on and a really nice breakdown and visuals of the special tests. ~ Lissa Fraser | Physiotherapist

Thanks for putting together something affordable that can also be applied to practice tomorrow.

I loved it. Thanks for putting together something affordable that can also be applied to practice tomorrow. I have had many conversations with physio friends over the years saying how many of us, when we are honest with ourselves, feel lost in what we are feeling with those special tests sometimes. We often don’t stop and hone in on/ improve the skills we already do have! ~ Physiotherapist

showing [the special tests] at different angles was really helpful

I really appreciated the explanations and videos of the special tests, and showing them at different angles was really helpful. I too have always performed a Lachman’s with my thigh under the patient’s knee (that’s how it was taught to me) and after this, it makes so much sense as to why not to do this!

It’s a great course packed with info!

Highly recommend this to anyone! It’s a great course packed with info! ~ Athletic Therapist
